Ordered, delivered, installed and commissioned during COVID-19

Oosterhout, 17th July 2020 – All are experiencing different/difficult times since the breakout of COVID-19 end of last year. It requires vision, drive and flexibility, especially in these times, to continue to improve business operations. Jysk Fynske Medier, located in Struer Denmark, did just that by upgrading with Q.I. Press Controls’ (QIPC) mRC-3D for register and cut-off control on their KBA Comet newspaper press.

Morten Hansen, Technical Manager Jysk Fynske Medier (left) and QIPC’s Service engineer, Tiemen van Eerde (right) both satisfied with the process of installation and commissioning.

The twenty new mRC-3D camera’s will be mounted on a KBA Comet press consisting of 6 printing units and 2 folders. The mRC-3D cameras will replace their predecessor, QIPC's IRS system, which has functioned flawlessly for eighteen years. Mr. Morten Hansen, Technical Manager of Jysk Fynske Medier: “We have had the IRS colour register and cut-off register since 2002 and in the past eighteen years I have always said that this was the best investment we have made after installing the KBA Comet in 2000. We have always been very satisfied with the service that QIPC provides. After eighteen years we know what we can expect and we know the people we are working with.”

To sign, deliver, install and complete an order in troubled and uncertain times because of the COVID-19 virus is quite remarkable. Taking all safety measures into account and by making good and mutual understandings, the entire process has proceeded excellently. “We want to complement QIPC for yet another good progress during the installation, which has gone as planned. Their Service Engineer, Tiemen van Eerde has done a great job, working late hours and solving challenges and adapted when necessary.” Morten Hansen concludes: “We are looking forward to the years to come, expecting the same high service level and the same close relationship as we have been used to.”

Erwin van Rossem, Director of Global Sales & Marketing QIPC adds; “Jysk Fynske Medier in Struer is one of our first customers in Denmark and of course being awarded again with this project is a nice expression of their satisfaction. Worth of highlighting is the fact that we are here upgrading an 18 years old system which confirms and proves the “Q” in our name that stands for Quality.”
