21/06/2012 Egyptian journalist detained in the Republic of Sudan. Egyptian journalist Salma El-Wardany and Sudanese blogger Maha El-Senoussy were reportedly arrested by The National Sudanese State Security Service (NISS) while covering events in Khartoum.

 

31/05/2012 Death toll mounts in Homs.The Director of Syrian Al-Shaam News Network Amar Mohamed Souheil Zada, and citizen journalists Ahmed Adnan Al Ashlaq and Fahmi Al Naiimi were killed on 27 May in the Khaldiya neighborhood of Homs.

 

23/05/2012 A week in press freedom. The Arab World "celebrated" World Press Freedom Day by cracking down on journalists in Egypt, killing a citizen journalist in Syria, passing a repressive law in Libya, fining a TV station owner in Tunisia and detaining a Human Rights activist in Bahrain.

06/04/2012 Bahraini activist and blogger Zainab Al-Khawaja imprisoned. Bahraini activist and blogger Zainab Al-Khawaja was arrested last night while protesting the detention of her father, prominent human rights defender Abdul Hadi Al-Khawaja.
